What the official sources say
- Nevada DMV Registration and Title Guide (revised April 2025): a foreign or gray-market vehicle is one made for sale in another country that may not meet U.S. safety or environmental standards and is not imported through the manufacturer's U.S. distribution system. 'Once in the United States, these vehicles must be brought into compliance, exported back out, or destroyed.'

Source: Nevada DMV Registration and Title Guide, Section 4 - Same guide: the Nevada title is branded 'Non-US Vehicle'; the guide defines this as a vehicle manufactured outside the U.S. that was not provided with a U.S. warranty ('gray-market vehicle'). Kilometers on the odometer are converted to miles at 0.6214.
